Remember, it's a 9pm start.
Unless you're Talbot. Then it starts around 9:25

This road trip will greatly determine whether or not they will have a chance in making the playoffs.

It will all even out, Talbot starts slow, and we will score 2 on Hutton for you.

Josh Gorges has announced his retirement.

Gorges, who was never drafted, played 13 seasons in the NHL for San Jose, Montreal and Buffalo, while skating in 783 career games. "I would like to take the time to officially announce my retirement from the NHL and the game of hockey," Gorges wrote on Instagram. "Even though this is a sad day I am extremely excited about the next chapter in my life and the opportunity to be back at home with my family."

For a guy who went undrafted he did well for himself, the game just got too fast for him

Winning helps bonding!
I believe the line combo's (coaching) have something to do with what is going on. The team isn't meshing well. Jack, Skin and Sam need to stay together, that is proven and are arguable one of the best combos in the league. The Florida experiment with Tage backfired, he was slow and out of position often.
Larsson and Girgs need to stay together, they play hard and are solid 4th liners. If Okposo can play down low instead of the back pass every time, that line should (needs to) generate more.
Erod has shown signs with speed and should play with Sobotka and Thompson. Vlad is a solid 2 way player, Erod and Tage can dazzle at times and have shown that.
Sheary, Mitts and Pommer should play together and get 8-10 minutes max.
Sheary is a dime a dozen player, Pommer has slowed down tremendously and Mitts has to learn how to be a pro.
There is not much more this team can do with the players they have in.
Buffalo needs a sniper and have to trade a Dman, pick and/or prospect to get one.
The team has been in last place for a long time and this surge has everyone excited. They can make the playoffs but they are where they should be right now. The 10 win stretch was awesome to watch and hopefully they can continue to play hard and stay in games.

I'm not expecting Botts to bring in anyone significant, although I hope I'm wrong.

But if it is true that we are basically stuck with what we have, the secondary scoring needs go come from somewhere on this team. Casey has the most upside and for that reason this team should not be burying him on the least important line, like you are suggesting. Rather, play him in situations that he is likely to succeed so that he can catch a spark. I like him with Tage.

Apparently Ryan Rishaug mentioned today the Oilers are considering moving a younger developing player, goalie, and first round pick for a forward.

The guys on TSN overdrive on my drive home from work including Ray ferraro were laughing hysterically at the thought of the Oilers moving a first round pick + to only get their teeth kicked in by Winnipeg/Nashville or Calgary/SJS/Vegas.

The reasoning “why move a first when you can potentially develop a guy to play with McDavid for the next 10 years just to make the playoffs and lose”

Weird

Chiarelli though...

And if you’re making a comparison to us:
1) no one wants to trade a 1st for a guy that won’t be here long term (at least i don’t)
2) idk why u keep acting like all 1sts work out?
